Shawn Ray Harris art and art works that are photo based and include sculpture and sculptural objects depicting social and political concepts extending the concept of the photograph as three dimensions to a new level.

Listening to my past is a composite photo that is more of a still life than portrait. Shawn Harris sits on both the right side and the left side of the photograph. The shawn on the right is symbolic of the younger more carefree Shawn he's wearing a pilot's antique headgear as he listens in, and talks with the newer, older, hopefully wiser, or perhaps just a little more educated having felt like he's been beaten down by 'The Man'. He sits stoically as he knows exactly what's been given up, what has been passed by and what has left him. He sits looking eye to eye with the viewer taking ownership, taking responsibility, but remains a man who knows the direction he is traveling in. The still life resembles something that might make listening to the past possible. The still life makes it possible to believe that some time travel may be possible to understand the conversation is occurring. shawn is the photographer and can be found making pictures and large size wall art in the san francisco bay area. Dynalite lighting and nikon equipment, shot onto a San Disk flash card shawnrayharris@att.net.
